Silk Painting Course – Price List

The basic stage is an introduction to silk painting, focusing on filling in pre-made outlines and shading. Participants can choose from a variety of motifs, such as plants, animals, abstracts, and landscapes. Along the way, they'll learn interesting facts about silk. This is an excellent opportunity to master the basic techniques and principles of working with this unique material!

INTERMEDIATE STAGE = PLN 600

Develops skills in wet-on-wet shading, creating gradients, and blending colors. Participants will learn how to use a gutta (contour pen) and create and paint their own contours. Additionally, the course will present interesting information about silk, which will enrich participants' knowledge.

ADVANCED LEVEL = PLN 1,000

This is a true challenge for those who want to hone their skills. Participants will work on creating their own patterns and outlines, painting the background using a dry gradient. This complex technique requires great precision and the ability to work quickly. In this stage, each participant will create their own scarves using their knowledge of contrasting colors. Participants will also learn how to use outlines and metallic gutta, and discover the secrets of our company. During the training, fascinating stories about silk will be shared, adding value to this artistic journey.

To advance to the advanced level, an individual assessment of your skills will be required during the intermediate stage. This training is not just about learning—it's also an opportunity to explore your creativity, create unique works of art, and delve into the secrets of silk painting. Refreshments, coffee and tea, and all necessary materials will be provided during the workshop. After the workshop, participants can take home the results of their work in the form of a painting or leave it to steam and sew, then return later to collect their scarf, ready to wear.

Silk painting workshops will be led by Julia Ostrowska

Hi! My name is Julia, and I'll be 22 in January. My artistic journey began as a child, when my mother enrolled me in various art classes. From preschool, I developed my skills through drawing, cutouts, and ceramics. Each of these experiences contributed to making art my greatest passion. I graduated from high school, where I studied languages, and now I'm continuing my education with a degree in graphic design and painting.

Drawing has been a lifelong passion of mine, and over the years, I began to explore new forms of expression. I studied hip-hop, rode horses, sang in a choir, and even competed in running races. However, art has always held a special significance for me. For over three years, I've been fulfilling myself by painting on silk – an incredibly exciting experience that allows me to immerse myself in my creativity in a completely new way. When I paint, time ceases to matter, and each piece tells its own unique story.

My passion for art, however, has deeper roots, reaching back to my great-grandmother, a talented painter. It's said her talent was so exceptional that when she drew Copernicus, it came alive. Although I never met her, I feel she plays an important role in my life. Everyone in our family says she freed up a place for me in the world and passed on her artistic talents to me. My middle name, Zuzia, is a tribute to her, and every artistic success I achieve is a way for me to honor her memory.

In my work, I want to share the knowledge and skills I've acquired through years of study and practice. I want to inspire others to discover themselves in art, especially in painting on silk. It's a beautiful material that holds magic and wonder. I hope I can show you the wonderful possibilities this technique offers, and perhaps you'll fall in love with it as I have.
