Silk painting
Steam-fixable silk paints are professional products designed for artists, designers, and anyone passionate about the art of silk painting. Thanks to their high dye concentration, they deliver exceptionally intense, pure, and luminous colors that spread beautifully across the fabric surface. Unlike iron-fixed paints, they do not leave a perceptible, crust-like layer on the fabric. These water-based paints penetrate directly into the structure of the silk fibers. The steam-fixing process creates a permanent bond between the dye and the silk, allowing the fabric to retain its natural softness, lightness, and elegance. This is precisely why steam-fixable silk paints are so highly valued by silk enthusiasts.
The silk paints offered here are distinguished not only by their color intensity but also by their high lightfastness and wash resistance once properly fixed. The steaming process triggers a chemical-thermal reaction that permanently bonds the pigment to the silk's protein fibers. As a result, the colors retain their depth over time, do not fade upon exposure to light, and remain exceptionally vibrant even after repeated use of the fabric. The high quality of the pigments used also ensures an exceptionally soft fabric finish, which is particularly important when creating neckerchiefs, scarves, garments, or decorative art textiles.
Paint set also available as a complete collection
Our silk paints come in a range of 10 primary colors that can be freely mixed with one another. Limiting the palette to base colors is a deliberate choice. When working with silk, artists typically create custom shades in small mixing containers, resulting in a virtually limitless array of colors and tonal gradations. The paints are supplied in 100 ml plastic jars, with larger 500 ml and 1000 ml containers available upon request. This makes them an excellent choice for beginners just starting their silk painting journey, as well as for studios and professional artists working on larger-scale projects.
To achieve the best results, proper fabric preparation is essential. The silk should be stretched taut over a wooden frame. Next, apply an outline (resist) to prevent the color from spreading uncontrollably. After allowing it to dry for approximately 20 minutes, you can begin the actual painting process. For a uniform finish, it is recommended to apply the paint by working from an area already covered with a fresh layer toward the unpainted section.

For working with fabric paints, we particularly recommend brushes with synthetic bristles; thanks to their softness and ability to hold a large amount of paint, they allow for smooth color transitions and precise detailing. Sponges are excellent for painting backgrounds, enabling quick and even coverage. Model instruction on withdrawal from the contract
Only the Customer who is a Consumer is entitled to a 14-day withdrawal period. According to Art. 22 (1) of the Civil Code, a consumer is a natural person who performs a legal transaction with the entrepreneur not directly related to his business or professional activity.
Exception
Luma Milanówek reserves that the following products purchased at Luma Milanówek are non-returnable:
- dedicated / personalized products, i.e. with the initial / name or other inscription ordered directly on the product / packaging
- personal protective equipment, i.e. protective products, i.e. all kinds of masks, visors, half-visors and protective filters
The right to withdraw from the contract
You have the right to withdraw from this contract within 14 days without giving any reason. The withdrawal period will expire after 14 days from the day on which you acquire, or a third party other than the carrier and indicated by you acquires, physical possession of the goods.
To exercise the right to withdraw from the contract, you must inform us (Luma Milanówek, Jedwabna 1, 05-822 Milanówek, sklep@luma-milanowek.pl, tel. +48 796 216 910) about your decision to withdraw from this contract by an unequivocal statement (for example, a letter sent by post, fax or e-mail). You may use the model withdrawal form, but it is not obligatory. You can also complete and send the withdrawal form or any other unequivocal statement by e-mail on our website HERE. If you use this option, we will send you a confirmation of receipt of the withdrawal information on a durable medium (e.g. by e-mail).
To keep the deadline for withdrawing from the contract, it is sufficient for you to send information regarding the exercise of your right to withdraw from the contract before the deadline to withdraw from the contract.
Consequences of withdrawal from the contract
In the event of withdrawal from this contract, we will reimburse you all payments received from you, including the cost of delivering the goods (except for additional costs resulting from the method of delivery chosen by you other than the cheapest standard delivery method offered by us), immediately, and in any case no later than 14 days from the date on which we were informed about your decision to exercise the right to withdraw from this contract. We will reimburse the payment using the same payment methods that you used in the original transaction, unless you have expressly agreed otherwise; in any event, you will not incur any fees related to this return. We may withhold the reimbursement until we receive the item or until proof of its return is provided to us, depending on which event occurs first.
Please send back or give us the item or Luma Milanówek ul. Jedwabna 1 05-822 Milanówek, immediately, and in any case not later than 14 days from the date on which you informed us of your withdrawal from this contract. The deadline is met if you send back the goods before the period of 14 days has expired. You will have to bear the direct cost of returning the goods. You are only responsible for reducing the value of things resulting from using it in a different way than was necessary to establish the nature, characteristics and functioning of things.
The right to withdraw from the contract by the consumer is excluded in the case of:
Agreements where the subject of the service is a non-prefabricated item, manufactured according to the consumer's specifications or serving to satisfy his individual needs.
Agreements where the subject of the service is an item delivered in a sealed package, which cannot be returned after opening the package due to health protection or hygiene reasons, if the packaging has been opened after delivery.
